I get a lot of questions about how to maintain your curly hair extensions ! So in this blog I will be giving you suggestions on what you can do to maintain your curly hair.
First thing first is the PRODUCTS you use! PRODUCTS are important because they cAn make or break your hair . I personally love to use the organix coconut water shampoo and conditioner. Virgin Hair Depot does offer this in a store near you as well! Conditioning your extensions is way more important than Shampooing because shampoo can dry out your hair. So you want to just lightly wash your extensions . Lather your hair with shampoo and make sure that the hair is clean and wash it out. You only need to wash the hair once . Once your hair is rinsed out you want to get an old tshirt and dry your hair with it. The fibers from a regular towel can break off your real hair and it can also dry out your extensions. Once you do that you want to get your conditioner and start at the ends of your extensions and work your way up. You want to make sure you get all of the hair but you don't want to over saturate the hair. If you feel like your hair is over saturated just carefully take your tshirt and squeeze your hair with it to get all the excess conditioner out.
Now I like to leave the conditioner in my hair because I like the way my hair feels with the conditioner left in . Especially when it air drys . You don't necessarily have to. if you don't want to, let the conditioner sit in your hair for about 15 min and rinse your hair out in cool water. This will keep your hair from getting dry. Then you should follow up with an olive oil or oil of some sort. Not to much because you don't want to get your hair greasy . Then you should apply a curling cream. Organics does have a curling cream product as well. Just be sure to not over due your product. You just need enough to keep your curls soft and bouncy . If your like me and want to leave the conditioner in then you can just let it air dry and go about your day . You can also apply some oil on your hair as well. I would just apply it at the ends because the ends are the easiest part of your extensions to become dry. Make sure you let your hair air dry because if you use the blow dryer it will make your hair feel a little dry and it might even tangle a bit. Natural air is the best for you extensions especially if you want to keep them healthy!
I hope this answers all your questions ! Now go and get those curls healthy and bouncy.
